Experimental hydrodynamic wave tank
The experimental wave tank is designed for modeling both surface and internal waves with salt stratification of liquid. Both periodic and single waves can be generated, including the waves generated by the dam break initial conditions. For this purpose there is a sealed vertical gate, which sharply rises upwards. Flap type wave maker has the amplitude in the range of 0-15 degrees and the frequency in the range 0.1-10 Hz. To register the surface wave field along the basin, two sensor systems are installed: string capacitive sensors and pressure gauges, as well as a video recording system, including a high-speed camera.
